Position Description
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for
selling Rexford Development’s consulting services by initiating and
establishing relationships with new clients. The ideal candidate
will have a strong understanding of solution selling concepts, with
the ability to sell staff augmentation and project-based consulting
services.
Successful candidates must be able to hit the ground running by
having experience selling information systems consulting services,
and possessing a substantial existing qualified list of client
prospects.
This position reports directly to the President of Rexford
Development, with whom the Business Development Manager will work
closely to leverage their existing contacts (professional network)
and schedule in-person meetings with the client.
This position has unlimited potential, and the ideal candidate
will possess the skills, drive, personality and desire to grow
within the company and ultimately to develop and manage a national
sales force.
Other Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Drive sales by setting phone calls and meetings to identify
and understand the client needs and the business drivers behind
them.
- Must be an established, tech savvy, personal networker with
a proven contact base.
- Have an understanding of software consulting sufficient to
explain the benefits of our capabilities and products to
potential customers, by phone, through presentations, and in
other meetings.
- Participate in the creation and execution of strategies for
each opportunity, by assisting management in defining the sales
steps necessary to win the opportunity.
- Must enjoy prospecting for new business opportunities by
partnering with vendor reps and cold calling into new accounts.
- Assist in the development and implementation of successful
marketing strategies.
- Possess the ability to manage opportunities from initial
contact to project sign-off.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal
skills, and leadership ability.
- Participate in all technical pre-sales activities including
RFI/RFP and meetings.
- Creative, with the ability to look at problems as
opportunities and conceptualize new solutions.
- Must possess excellent time management, decision-making,
presentation and organizational skills.
- Must be honest, forthright, self-motivated and persevering:
Doesn’t make promises that can’t be kept: Willing to admit
mistakes and learn from them.
- A working knowledge of relational databases, markup and
programming languages, and system architectures is very
desirable.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Education/Experience
- College degree preferred
- Proven record of successfully selling to high and mid level
management in mid and large corporate markets.
Compensation
- Negotiable; dependent upon experience and client contact
equity
